Ameena Sultan

Ameena Sultan is an associate lawyer in the law firm of Whaley Estate Litigation. Ameena practices exclusively in the areas of estate, trust, incapacity, fiduciary, and power of attorney litigation. Ameena obtained her law degree from McGill University after completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2002. She practiced in a trade union environment before opening her own immigration and refugee law practice in 2003.

Prior to joining Whaley Estate Litigation, Ameena was an associate at Swadron Associates where she practiced mental health law, civil litigation and estate litigation and appeared before the Consent and Capacity Board, the Ontario Review Board, the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Ameena is a member of the Section Executive of the Ontario Bar Associate, Trust and Estates Section, sits as President on the Board of Directors of Sojourn House, a refugee shelter in Toronto, and is a founding director of the Arab Canadian Lawyers Association. She speaks Arabic, French and Spanish fluently.
